The Ultimate Festival Guide To Harvest

An Ultimate Festival Guide to go with your Ultimate Pass? Yes Please!

Every festival is different and it can be hard to keep up with the key information that is necessary for maximizing your festival experience. Being up to date on the logistics of a festival such as the schedule, map, and line up is important, but so is knowing the atmosphere and energy you are about to step into. Here at Harvest, we are committed to providing the safest, most enjoyable experience for our festival goers. That’s why we have put together the ultimate festival guide just for you! Your questions of what to bring, what to plan for, and what to expect, are all answered here.

What’s in My Bag!

Bag Policy

There’s a fine line between abiding by bag policies and making sure you have everything you may need to get you through the festival day/night. At Harvest you’re allowed a small bag when entering the festival tents and it may be subjected to searching by security to assure safety! Experience Guide

Ear Protection

With all the amazing music being played at Harvest, it can get loud. Ear plugs are a life hack to prolong your ability to enjoy the festival this year and in years to come. Whether you pick up a pair of disposable earplugs for the night or invest in some to use show after show, if you’re sensitive to sound this can be a game changer.

Money

Thirsty? Get a drink at the bar! Hungry? Stop by one of many food vendors! Like what you’re hearing? Check out the merch table or a local record store. There’s a solution to all your problems at Harvest, but the form of payment varies. Make sure to come prepared with your debit/credit card, cash (food vendors), and drink tokens to cover all your bases. Drink tokens are available for purchase at the bar, or skip the lines during the festival and purchase them at the Harvest store when picking up your tickets or passes! ATMs are available around downtown when in a pinch!

ID

At Harvest we have something for everyone, kids included. But some shows are restricted to patrons aged 19+. Make sure to check the details of your show to double check. If you are attending a 19+ show, make sure to have your government issued photo ID ready at entry.

Tickets and Passes

Possibly the most important item to make sure is on your body when attending a festival is your ticket/pass! Knowing what pass you have and what it grants you access to will allow for smooth entry into tents. Do you have an Ultimate Pass? Make sure you pick up your pass at the Harvest Store beforehand. Do you have a print-at-home ticket? It’ll scan at the door like any other ticket. Buying at the door? If the show is not sold out you can purchase entry right at the tent. Some Harvest tickets/passes even give you access to afterburner shows and later shows as well as the headliner.Tickets and Passes

Day to Night

The Atlantic air can change from day to night. This time of year it can be hot during the day and cool off at night. With Harvest events happening throughout the day and into the night, it’s best to come prepared for different temperatures with layers. Need an outfit change? Stop by the Harvest store with its extended festival week hours for sweaters, hats, t-shirts, and more! Online Store

September Sun

Although it is technically fall, the September sun shines bright! If you’re attending daytime events or shows, make sure to be prepared for what can sometimes feel like a summer’s day. Sunscreen, sunglasses, and hats can save you from a wicked burn that will last longer than the festival!

Rain or Shine

Harvest operates in all weather conditions (save for extreme circumstances), so be prepared to move and groove in rain or shine. Check your show’s location beforehand to assess the weather protection you may need during and between shows. Playhouse? It’s all indoors. TD Main Stage, Ginger Barracks Tent, and Hoodoo House of Blues? These are tented venues that offer some protection, but you may need a jacket to and from. No umbrellas in the tents please! Free stages or checking out buskers? A rain jacket or poncho may be required…

These Boots are Made for Walking

Harvest is a multi-venue festival with multiple tents, venues, and vendor locations across downtown Fredericton. If you’re planning on experiencing all that Harvest has to offer, make sure to wear shoes you’re comfortable walking and standing in for long periods during shows.

Take a Beat

It’s important to take care of yourself during long festival days! Staying hydrated is key, so make use one of the water stations around the festival grounds. And keep your energy levels up by stopping at a food truck along the street experience or one of our in-tent vendors. And if you need a second to yourself, no worries! There are seating options at all venues and events around town that can break up your night.

Point A – Point B

Nothing’s worse than being stuck after a show. Get ahead of it by planning your transportation beforehand! Harvest takes place in the heart of Fredericton rather than traditional festival grounds. This means that most things are within walking distance, but also that some streets are blocked off for vehicles. We want you to get home safe, which is why we partner with ANBL to offer free bus transportation after the festival ends. A return home route and hotel shuttle schedule will be provided before the festival.
