Fredericton’s Harvest Music Festival today announced that Canadian indie rocker Matt Mays of Dartmouth has been added to the Saturday Blues Tent schedule on September 17. Mays and his band will join The Record Company, who move into the closing spot following the withdrawal of JJ Grey & Mofro from the festival this week.
“Matt Mays is the act to match the onstage energy and audience connection that the Record Company is famous for delivering,” said Brent Staeben, Harvest Music Programmer. “Every time Matt has played Harvest, he’s delivered a rip-roaring and memorable performance. My memories of his shows are as much about the wild crowd response as they are about the band’s performance. There’s a special connection there between Matt and his audiences and that makes him a perfect fit for a show with The Record Company.”
Mays fills in on the Saturday schedule vacated by JJ Grey & Mofro, who due to unforeseen circumstances are unable to attend this year’s festival.
“We’re sad for all of us fans of JJ Grey who were looking forward to another great Mofro show,” said Staeben. “But we know that Matt Mays has exactly what we need to keep the party going on Harvest Saturday night.”
Mays and his band will take to the Blues Tent stage Saturday September 17th for a full 90 minute show at 8pm, with The Record Company closing the night at 10pm. Tickets are $65.00 plus fees and HST, and will be on sale today as of 10:00am Atlantic, available here or by calling 1-888-311-9090. Ultimate Passholders and Saturday Passholders can also access this show. While Ultimate Passes have sold out, a limited number of Saturday Passes remain on sale.
For those already holding JJ Grey tickets or Saturday Passes, nothing has changed and those tickets and passes will be honored at the door. For those interested in a refund, they are available upon request up until Friday August 12th. To request a refund, please contact Ticketpro at info@ticketpro.ca.
