Harvest presents free ANBL Safe Ride Programs

Getting home safely from Harvest is easier than ever this year. Whether you live in the city or are staying at a hotel, Harvest and its partners are proud to offer two different safe ride programs to make sure festival patrons get to and from the festival safely.

Harvest, Alcool NB Liquor, and Fredericton Transit have partnered to offer free regular transit service on all Fredericton Transit routes between 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. to festival patrons and community members from Thursday through Saturday of the festival. The Fredericton Transit schedule can be found at www.fredericton.com/transit or by using ReadyPass, the free mobile app that provides real-time bus tracking and routing with easy use features.

“ANBL is very excited to partner with the City of Fredericton and the Harvest Jazz and Blues Festival to provide the ‘Free ANBL Safe Ride,’” said Brad  Cameron interim President & CEO of ANBL.  “Smart and responsible use of alcohol is something we all have a role to play in, which is why are proud to work towards drastically reducing impaired driving in our communities.”

Fredericton Transit will also operate a late-night shuttle service from 11 p.m. to 3 a.m. Thursday through Saturday.  This late-night bussing will service North and South Fredericton – just let the driver know where you need to go, and they will bring you as close as possible to your preferred destination within City limits. Boarding location is at the Kings Place Mall.

For patrons staying at one of our partner hotels during Harvest, we have partnered with ANBL and Trius to provide three dedicated hotel shuttles as part of the Free ANBL Safe Ride Program from Thursday through Saturday. Pick up and drop-off location is at top of Wilmot Alley & King Street. The shuttle will operate on a loop from 4 p.m. to 3 a.m. and will make stops at most major Fredericton hotels, including the Delta Hotel, Best Western Plus, Comfort Inn, Holiday Inn, Hampton Inn, Howard Johnson and Fredericton Inn.

Routes and scheduling TBD.

Official Schedule Release with Free Programming

Harvest is pleased to announce the release of its official full 2019 schedule. In addition to this year’s outstanding lineup on the main stages, the festival is continuing its tradition of fostering an accessible and community-driven experience with the release of a full schedule of entirely free musical programming in partnership with CBC.

The festival’s unique setting and the mix of all the venues – paid, free, pubs and clubs and historic spaces, right on the river is what makes Harvest so magical. The best of our city is on display in our Street Experience and so much of it is free. Harvest invites everyone to come downtown to experience all there is to see, hear and taste this year.

“Our widespread range of musical offerings, including an extensive slate of free programming is part of what makes this year’s Harvest lineup so special,” says Kerry Wells, chair of the festival.

“Creating a festival experience that allows as many people as possible to enjoy the magic of downtown Fredericton during Harvest week is central to what we do. With over 50 mainstage acts with ticket prices starting as low at $10, we’ve worked to make this festival as accessible as possible, but our free shows are what really shine. From exciting buskers and talented musicians, our street experience offers something for everyone.”

Whether you are looking for a fun family outing or searching to discover new up and coming bands, there is so much at this year’s Harvest you will not want to miss. Each free stage presents its own distinct offerings.

A breakdown of the performances appears below. The full schedule can be found on our website.

In addition to the release of Harvest’s official 2019 schedule, our new storefront at 408 Queen Street opens today. The new location is right in the centre of the Harvest action, increasing accessibility and visibility to our patrons. Stop by to pick up passes, purchase tickets, drink tokens and merch and pick up a printed copy of this year’s full schedule, bursting with amazing programming.

This year there is also two exciting new venue value passes, the Big FUN Pass and the Hoodoo House pass. The Big FUN pass grants access to all four Atlantic Lottery Barracks Tent shows with 11 acts and afterburners in the Moose Light Blues tent. The Ginger Agency Hoodoo House Venue Pass gets you into all shows in that venue, with almost a dozen different acts.

The Barracks programming is brought to patrons this year by local Fredericton musician Stephen Lewis. Harvest is so excited about this collaboration and can’t wait to show off Stephen’s lineup of high-energy jam/rock bands.

The festival is also thrilled to partner with the Charlotte Street Arts Centre and Fredericton Girls + Rock Camp to present a showcase performance in the Atlantic Lottery Barracks tent from some amazing young artists. Girls + Rock Camp is a five-day camp for girls, trans and gender non-conforming youth from ages 11 to 18. It aims to give folks the opportunity to learn instruments, write songs and feel empowered. The showcase is on Saturday Sept.14th from 4:30p.m. – 5:15 p.m. in the Barracks Tent.

Free Schedule breakdown

On Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of the festival, our King’s Place Stage presents free lunchtime shows at 12 p.m. featuring Alex Bailey, The Rusty Mikes and Garrett Mason, respectively.

The Fredericton’s Own Stage, in front of City Hall, features the best of the Capital City’s up and coming talent on Thursday, Friday and Saturday of the festival. Some local acts appearing here include Keith Hallett, Jerry Faye Band, Maggie’s Farm Revival, Chillteens, Matt Comeau and Montgomery Street Band.

Harvest’s Stingray Rising Stars Competition takes place Friday afternoon at 2 p.m. in the Atlantic Lottery Barracks Tent. This free event features performances by the four finalists, one of which will be crowned the 2019 Stingray Rising Stars at the end of the showcase. The 2019 Stingray Rising Stars will then open for Andy Frasco & the UN later that evening in the Barracks. The Barracks Tent is home to more free programming Saturday, inviting patrons to a showcase of the Girls + Rock Camp.

Purchasing Tips for May 11th

Tickets will go on sale May 11th at 11 a.m. and can be purchased online at www.harvestjazzandblues.ticketpro.ca or by calling 1-888 311-9090. Tickets are not available for purchase in person or by phone at the Harvest office.

Here are some best practices for online ticket buying:

1. Create your account before May 11th in order to purchase. Signing up before the first day of ticket sales will save you time when purchasing tickets, as all you will have to do is sign in with your username and password. You can create your account, or reset your password on an existing account if needed, here: https://secure.ticketpro.ca/?lang=en/#myprofile

2. Transactions must be completed within 12 minutes. Please note: putting tickets in your purchase basket does not “reserve” tickets indefinitely; it only reserves your tickets for 12 minutes, so you have time to complete the transaction.

3. There is a limit of four (4) tickets to Robert Plant and eight (8) each for other show tickets and passes.

4. Plan ahead. Know what you want to buy well before 11 am! This way you can quickly get into the system and get your order processed!

5. Refrain from using Back and Forward buttons in the browser. Those buttons only display screens that have been displayed previously, but do not necessarily reflect the present ticket/pass availability. (For example, if you have tickets in your cart and then release them, if you click on the Back button a few times, the screen will show those tickets in your cart, however, in reality they are no longer there.)

6. Confirmation emails are sent after your purchase. If you do not receive a confirmation email within 15 minutes of your purchase, check your junk mail. If your confirmation is not there then you may have provided an incorrect email address. You can verify the information you’ve provided by accessing your account with this link: https://secure.ticketpro.ca/#myprofile
